Kin-Yoobi Con Safety and Security Policies:
All Kin-Yoobi Con staff, volunteers, guests, vendors, artists and attendees must adhere to the convention's official code of conduct as follows:

Sexual Assault Policy
Kin-Yoobi Con recognizes that sexual assault is a very serious issue, and will not tolerate acts of sexual assault at the convention. Sexual assault includes, but is not limited to rape, sodomy, oral copulation, penetration with a foreign object, sexual battery or threat of sexual assault. The convention may contact law enforcement for investigation of all allegations of sexual assault. Law enforcement may take appropriate measures disciplinary, criminal or other legal action in cooperation with the victim of the sexual assault. The identity of victims of sexual assault can be made confidential pursuant to California Penal Code section 293.

If you become a victim of a sexual assault on or off campus do the following:

1. Get to a safe place

2. Contact the hotel staff, police department, medical aid, or Kin-Yoobi Con staff

3. Contact someone you can trust to support you

4. Make every effort to preserve any physical evidence of the assault

5. Do not wash, shower, bathe, douche, or change, destroy, or discard your clothing

6. Do not clean up or rearrange the area of the crime scene

7. A police officer will arrange for forensic medical services as appropriate

8. Victims who report the sexual assault within 72 hours of the assault are eligible for victim's compensation

 

Drug and Alcohol Policy
Kin-Yoobi Con strives to maintain a drug-free and alcohol-free environment. Illegal drugs and alcohol is not allowed at the convention. An attendee may be arrested, kicked out of the convention without refund, permanently banned from future conventions held under the name "Kin-Yoobi Con", or given a lesser sanction for good cause and in accordance with procedures consistent with due process for violations of drug and alcohol related local, state and/or federal law.


Photography and Videotaping

Photographs and videotape footage by attendees are generally allowed in all common areas of the convention. Specific rules and restrictions regarding video, audio, and photography may apply to certain specific events.

Please obtain permission first when photographing or videotaping individuals or costumes. If someone asks or otherwise indicates that they do not wish to be photographed, do not photograph them.

Photography or videography of Kin-Yoobi Con staff, attendees, or guests for the purpose of sale, or publication to the press is expressly forbidden unless written permission has been obtained from Game-Zone Recreation as well as the Hilton Newark/Fremont Hotel in accordance with its press policy. Individuals may take pictures and videotapes for private viewing and are asked to identify all images, sound bites and clips of Kin-Yoobi Con events as Kin-Yoobi Con events.

Video footage of the convention and attendees gathered by staff members, including in public areas, events, and panels, and may be used in a highlight tapes, marketing endeavors or other media use. Attendee registration for Kin-Yoobi Con constitutes consent to be filmed or photographed by Kin-Yoobi Con staff, approved industry, or media during the Kin-Yoobi Con event without compensation to you. Your acceptance of registration and attendance at any Kin-Yoobi Con event, including the convention, constitutes a grant of rights to Kin-Yoobi Con to reproduce, display, distribute, perform, create derivative works from, and otherwise use any film or video footage that it affixes in any media and in any manner throughout the world in perpetuity, including on the internet, broadcast, satellite and other transmissions.

These rules apply to all attendees (exhibitors, guests, press, industry or any level of regular membership).

Weapons Policy
Kin-Yoobi Con prohibits the use or possession of any weapons as its formal weapons policy. An attendee may be arrested, kicked out of the convention without refund, permanently banned from future conventions held under the name "Kin-Yoobi Con", or given a lesser sanction for good cause and in accordance with procedures consistent with due process for violations of the weapons policy.

Indecent Exposure Policy

Indecent exposure of any kind is not tollerated at Kin-Yoobi Con. Being in cosplay does not justify indecent exposure. An attendee may be arrested, kicked out of the convention without refund, permanently banned from future conventions held under the name "Kin-Yoobi Con", or given a lesser sanction for good cause and in accordance with procedures consistent with due process for violations of the indecent exposure policy. The policy reads:
Every person who willfully and lewdly, either: 1. Exposes his person, or the private parts thereof, in any public place, or in any place where there are present other persons to be offended or annoyed thereby; or, 2. Procures, counsels, or assists any person so to expose himself or take part in any model artist exhibition, or to make any other exhibition of himself to public view, or the view of any number of persons, such as is offensive to decency, or is adapted to excite to or thoughts or acts, is guilty of a misdemeanor.

Lost Badge Policy

During the convention if you happen to loose your registration badge you can pay for a replacement badge at the registration booth for half the price that you paid for the original badge. You must first show a State or Student I.D. to verify your identification to the registration staff before purchase of a replacement badge.


Cancellation Policy

We understand that things can come up unexpectedly. If you are unable to attend Kin-Yoobi Con after registering for the convention you can cancel your registration by sending an email to registration@gzronline.com. Your payment will be used as credit toward any future Kin-Yoobi Con.
