Safety
and Security Policies:
All Kin-Yoobi Con staff, volunteers, guests,
venodors and attendees must adhere to the official policies of the Chabot-Las Positas
Community College District as follows:
Sexual Assault Policy
The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District
recognizes that sexual assault is a very serious issue, and will not
tolerate acts of sexual assault on campus. Sexual assault includes, but
is not limited to rape, sodomy, oral copulation, penetration with a
foreign object, sexual battery or threat of sexual assault. The college
will investigate all allegations of sexual assault and take appropriate
disciplinary, criminal or other legal action in cooperation with the
victim of the sexual assault. The college will also make provisions to
assist the victim in securing support services including medical aid,
counseling services, legal assistance, and victim compensation through
our strategic partners. The identity of victims of
sexual assault can be made confidential pursuant to
California Penal Code section 293.
If you become a victim of a sexual assault on or off
campus do the following:
- Get to a safe place
- Contact the Department of Campus Safety, police
department, medical aid, or college staff
- Contact someone you can trust to support you
- Make every effort to preserve any physical evidence
of the assault
- Do not wash, shower, bathe, douche, or change,
destroy, or discard your clothing
- Do not clean up or rearrange the area of the crime
scene
- A police officer will arrange for forensic medical
services as appropriate
- Victims who report the sexual assault within 72 hours
of the assault are eligible for victim’s compensation
Drug and Alcohol Policy
The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District
strives to maintain a drug-free and alcohol-free environment. An
attendee may be arrested, kicked out of the convention without refund,
permenately banned from future conventions held under the name
"Kin-Yoobi Con", or given a lesser sanction for good cause and in
accordance with procedures consistent with due process for violations
of the drug and
alcohol policy. The drug and alcohol policy reads:
“On college property, the sale or knowing
possession of dangerous drugs, restricted dangerous drugs, alcoholic
beverages or narcotics as those terms are used in California statutes
except when lawfully prescribed or permitted. District/college property
includes real or personal property in the possession of, or under the
control of the Board of Trustees of the Chabot-Las Positas District and
all district facilities whether operated by the district or by a
district auxiliary organization.”
The policy can be found under the Chabot-Las Positas
Administrative Rules and Procedures Manual section 5512(A)(8) and the
Drug-Free Workplace provisions listed under section 2315.
Weapons Policy
The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District
prohibits the use or possession of any weapons as defined below. An
attendee may be arrested, kicked out of the convention without
refund, permenately banned from future conventions held under the name
"Kin-Yoobi Con", or given a lesser sanction for good cause and in
accordance with procedures consistent with due process for violations
of the weapons policy.
The policy reads:
“Knowing possession or use of explosives,
dangerous chemicals or deadly weapons on college property or at a
college function … Deadly weapons includes any instrument or
weapon of the kind commonly known as a blackjack, sling shot,
billyclub, sandclub, sandbag, metal knuckles, any dirk, dagger,
switchblade knife, pistol, revolver, or any other firearm, any knife
having a blade longer than five inches, any razor with an unguarded
blade, and any metal pipe or bar used or intended to be used as a
club.”

Indecent Exposure Policy
Indecent exposure of any kind is not tollerated at Kin-Yoobi Con. Being
in cosplay does not justify indecent exposure. An attendee may be
arrested, kicked out of the convention without
refund, permenately banned from future conventions held under the name
"Kin-Yoobi Con", or given a lesser sanction for good cause and in
accordance with procedures consistent with due process for violations
of the indecent exposure policy. The policy reads:
Every person who willfully and lewdly, either:
1.
Exposes his
person, or the private parts thereof, in any public place, or in any
place where there are present other persons to be offended or annoyed
thereby; or, 2. Procures, counsels, or assists any person so to expose
himself or take part in any model artist exhibition, or to make any
other exhibition of himself to public view, or the view of any number
of persons, such as is offensive to decency, or is adapted to excite to
or thoughts or acts, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
