Anime Theatre

What's an anime con with out anime, right? We're showing episodes from anime series, anime movies, AMVs and OVAs just like a theatre. We're projecting the video from an LCD projector onto a big screen with a theatre quality sound system. It always is and forever will be about the anime.

Vendor and Dealing

We will be having Dealers and Vendors at the con. They will be selling everything from manga, plush dolls, posters, trading cards, anime memorabilia, DVDs, video games, and other merchandise. There is a wide selection so take your time and shop. Check the website updates of names of vendors and a list of merchandise.  

Panel Discussions

Everyone has their own opinions about issues, but that's the beauty of life, and that's why panel discussions are so fun! We will be talking about hot issues in the gaming and anime community that are definitely going to raise some tension. It's no holds bared here as we will be intentionally pushing people's buttons on hot topics. We also feature purely informational panels too for those of you who might not be in the mood for a debate but still would like to be involved in anime fandom discussion. Check the website for updates of future topics and times.

Table Top Gaming

It's not all about the video games. Kin-Yoobi Con is hosting all types of other games as well, specifically table top games. We're hosting Warhammer Fantasy as well as Dungeons and Dragons. We will feature a Warhammer Fantasy Mega Battle Tournament. Check out the schedule for the time of the tournament.

Fanart is very popular. We have many skilled artists in the San Francisco Bay Area and Kin-Yoobi Con is displaying the work of many. Artists with anime style influence are showcasing their art in designated areas throughout the con. Why not take the time for a minute or two and check out some of the fine artwork that is being displayed throughout the con. It's good to appreciate art.    

Manga Library

Most if not all anime start off as manga. Many fans of anime say that the manga versions are better. Manga definitely has a place in anime fandom. Kin-Yoobi Con will have a manga library for attendees to freely read. We have many mangas of all different series. If you wanted to, you can spend the entire con going through the extensiveness of our library. If you're looking for a break from the excitement, relax and read a manga at our library.

Live Musical Performances

Music is the art of sound, and Kin-Yoobi Con is delivering it to you live. We're bringing in local bands throughout the San Francisco Bay Area to perform at our con. We have bands of all types of genres from rock to hip hop. The music many of the bands that come to our con play are inspired by anime and games. Enjoy yourself and rock out to some cool music live. Check the website for updates on the names of bands and the times they will perform.  

Cosplay Competition

Dressing up is always fun, and it's even more fun to dress up as an anime or video game character, isn't it? For the second time Kin-Yoobi Con will be hosting a Cosplay competition. There will be a contest for best custume, best reenactment of a scene, and best dressed group. Prizes are awarded to the winners. Check out the winners of last year's Kin-Yoobi Con in this picture to the left!

Video Game Play and Tournaments

We're hosting free video game play for our attendees. We'll have all the latest consoles, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo Wii. Let's not forget the old school systems as well, we'll be having those too. I'm talking about SNES, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, the NEC Turbo Graphics and many others. We'll be gamed up this convention. We'll be hosting many interactive games too, like Para Para Paradise, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band. You can also bring your own console and games to play if you so desire. And not to mention the video game tournaments we will be hosting. Our major tournaments will feature cash prizes for winners! This was our most popular activity last Kin-Yoobi Con and we will definitely not disappoint this time. It's going to be a lot of fun indeed. Free Lunch

One of the things that got Kin-Yoobi Con famous was our free lunch. This time we're doing it again. You don't have to leave Kin-Yoobi Con to get a bite to eat for lunch. Last time we grilled burgers and hotdogs with barbeque sauce, but this time we're giving away free pizza! Pizza of all types will be served to attendees during the scheduled lunch period. We will also provide pizza options with no meat for all you anime loving vegetarians out there. Not only do we aim to satisfy that grumbling tummy of yours we want to quench your thirst too by serving free bottled waters. Check the schedule for the specific time and place in which we will be serving free grilled lunch.

Cosplay Date Auction

Imagine, if you will, walking out of Kin-Yoobi Con with your very own date "dressed in cosplay". It can very well happen. Kin-Yoobi Con will again be hosting a date auction but the stipulation this time is that all participants to be auctioned off for a date must be in cosplay. Think about going out on a date with Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7, Vash the Stampede from Trigun, or Hiro Yui from Gundam Wing. Maybe you'd rather take out Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Jill from Resident Evil, or Princess Peach from Super Mario Bros. What ever floats your boat, hey, it's all a romancing saga, get it, Romancing Saga, it's a video game... No, well in any case why not give it a shot? You can register to be auctioned or you can bid on a date. A date with the girl in the picture to right was auctioned for $85 showing that there is a definite interest in this event.        

Karaoke

Looks like everybody thinks they can sing these days, with all these American Idol shows out today. Even though most people can't sing it doesn't mean that most people can't have fun. Sing along to your favorite anime or video game song. It doesn't matter whether you are in tune or not, karaoke is Japanese for tone deaf so it's all good. Lyrics will be provided so you don't have to know the song by heart. Don't be shy. Let loose and have some fun! You'll be in good company, remember, most people can't sing.

Anime Music DJ'ing

Music will be constantly playing during Kin-Yoobi Con. Between band performances KCRH's J-Man will be laying down the music from anime soundtracks and clips, further developing that anime atmospheric fandom environment for that otaku in all of us. Where ever you are at in Kin-Yoobi Con you can always sit back and enjoy the music.
