Preface (前書き)
Kin-Yoobi Con 2009 is going to be filled with cool special guests. Panelists,
DJs, and voice actors are just some of the types of guest that we will feature
at the con. Our special guests are eager to share their passion, whether it be a
love of anime or other interest, with our attendees. Check this section often
for new additions to our special guests line up.

Robert Axelrod has carved a career in show business that runs the gamut. Born and raised in
New York City, he did commercials and theater as a child and teen, eventually ending up in the
Soho Avant-garde Theater scene in a show called “Little Trips”, then Off-Broadway in a play
called “The Destroyers”. Axelrod left acting for the world of music. He spent eight years as
a working rock musician playing electric bass and singing in folk, rock, and soul bands.
Music brought him to Los Angeles where he decided to return to acting, a decision he never
regrets.
Since then, Mr. Axelrod has appeared in over thirty feature films including four with
Charles Bronson, the Sci-Fi hit remake “The Blob” with Kevin Dillon and many others.
Television appearances include guest star roles on “Amazing Stories”, “Star Trek Voyager”, and
“The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He also starred in the Michael Jackson music video
“Stranger in Moscow”.
Mr. Axelrod is also a busy voice over artist. He is the voice of Lord
Zedd and Finster on the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”. The Lord Zedd voice is one of the most
recognizable character voices around. He voiced Armadillomon and Wizardmon on “Digimon,
Microchip, The Punisher’s sidekick, on “Spiderman”, Rico on “Robotech”, and has voiced countless
Anime features including “Akira”, “The Big O”, “Cowboy Bebop”, “Brain Scratch”, et al. As Lord
Zedd, he starred in both the first Power Rangers feature film and the wildly popular live show
that toured the country. He was a regular character on Saban Entertainment’s “Wowser” series
(as Ratso Catso), “Journey To The Heart of the World” (as Scarface), “Hallo Spencer” (as Elmer),
and more. He just finished narrating the mockumentary “Safety First: The Rise of Women and
voicing four Anime series, “Gaiking”, “Danguard Ace”, “Captain Horlock”, and “The Adventures of
Nadja”.
Steven Savage is an unrepentant technophile, history buff, and enthusiast for the unusual - in short,
a complete nerd. However he has also been an IT professional since 1996, and a person who actively keeps
track of the economy and the job market. He has helped many a friend and co-worker through job and career
issues, so I also started speaking on careers.
Over the years he has developed a basic philosohpy on how people who are part of or participate in "the geekonomy"
can guide their careers and find more satisfaction and purpose in their lives. It all starts with finding out
your passions and inclinations - and few people are more passionate than your average technophile, sci-fi fan,
or anime buff!

The
Shogunate is a group of artists united by a love of music, japanese animation,
and untied from the bonds that hold most people back. The group was originally
called The West Coast Samurai Ninja Klan, and mainly dabbled in parodies of
popular a-pop and j-pop songs.
The original members were West Coast Samurai, and Lonewolf, followed in a year
or so later, by Nocamaru, then Seraph. In 2007, Bob $wole joined the group.
But, times are never easy for any great band. Bob $wole had to leave the Bay
Area for Atlanta, and Seraph and WCS had to leave the stage for personal
reasons. The group was devastated.
For maybe a week. Two of the remaining members, Nocamaru, and Lonewolf, then
embarked on a side project, called Break Through Heaven. While The Shogunate's
music combined Rythm & Blues, Hip Hop, Rock, all very close genres of
themselves, BTH was Nocamaru and Lonewolf's excuse to push harder and renew
their goal, taking their music a totally different direction.
The side project, which had become the main project, was set aside when Emerging
Rock, and another secret character joined The Shogunate in January 2008. Their
arrival is only the perfect beginning of The Shogunate's rise to glory
(finally.)
A weekly podcast and blogs give you a peek into the minds of these wild otaku,
with their crazy dreams and goals.
